Bidding Strategies Addressed During 32nd Annual Conference

Paul Baumgartner of FIS Default Solutions will join Felita Kealing of FIS Default Solutions, Matt Kobin of Credit Suisse Securities USA and Linda Orlans, Esq., of Orlans in an exciting session on Tuesday, October 30th at the UTA’s 32nd Annual Education Conference and Trade Show. The session will provide an informative, economic perspective on bidding strategies and will compare the different types of foreclosure markets for bidding strategies in several regions. Using national foreclosure data, the session will explore best practices for investors, summarize ‘what’s going on’ in the market and provide several aggressive bidding strategies.

The UTA Annual Conference will be held October 27th – 30th at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in La Jolla, California. Paul Baumgartner is the Senior Vice President, FIS Default Solutions. Paul is an industry veteran with over 21 years of mortgage servicing and default experience. In his current role, Paul consults with many of the leading Mortgage Servicers and investors on foreclosure and bankruptcy servicing strategies and technology development, inclusive of property valuation and foreclosure bidding techniques. Prior to joining Fidelity Information Solutions, Paul managed the Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, and Post Foreclosure Sale functions at Washington Mutual Bank as the National Foreclosure Manager and held a similar position with Fleet Mortgage prior to its acquisition by Washington Mutual. Paul is a past member of FNMA’s Default Customer Advisory Group, FHLMC’s Default Advisory Group, past member of the USFN Advisory committee, and current member of the MBA’s Loan Servicing Committee.

Felita Kealing is the Client Services Liaison and Business Development Adminstrator of FIS Default Solutions, Agency Sales & Posting (ASAP). FIS ASAP provides comprehensive posting, serving, publishing, and auctioneer services throughout the nation. Felita’s principle responsibilities are devoted to Marketing and Customer Service. However, she is currently involved in consulting with trustee and attorney clients in the technological development to ASAP’s web-based services. Felita has been with the company for six years.

Matthew Kobin has been involved with single family servicing for over 15 years with managerial roles in Default servicing (First Nationwide Bank and Washington Mutual) as well as Agency and Conduit administration (FHLMC and Credit Suisse). In his current role within Credit Suisse's Servicing Oversight group, Matthew is responsible for non prime servicer surveillance across all Default functions. Matthew was a member of FHLMC's Default Advisory Group (DAG) for 7 years, holds a BA from UCLA, and maintains a California Brokers License.

Linda Orlans is the owner and managing partner of Orlans, a law firm that specializes in mortgage foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and real estate transactions. The firm is consistently recognized as a top performer in the mortgage default industry. With over 10 years of experience in default, Linda Orlans has received many honors and awards for the firm. Orlans is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, is on the Approved Attorney Network for Fannie Mae, and serves as Designated Counsel for Freddie Mac. In 2004 and 2005, Orlans was named the Best Foreclosure Firm in a Non-Judicial State by Homecomings Financial Network (A GMAC Company) and in 2005 named Best Eviction Firm in the United States. Also in 2005, Fidelity National Foreclosure and Bankruptcy Solutions named Orlans in the Top Ten of Performing Firms in Foreclosure and in the Top Twenty Performing Firms in Bankruptcy. Most recently, Orlans was named Top Non-Judicial Attorney Firm by AMC for 2006.
