On February 6, UTA members joined together in Olympia to lobby the Washington Legislature. This was the UTA’s first Day on the Hill since the end of the pandemic, and it was great to have trustees meeting with lawmakers in person. Trustees discussed issues relating to the foreclosure process, educated lawmakers and staff on the role of the trustee, and emphasized the importance of funding the mediation process to retain quality mediators. UTA wishes to thank Laura Coughlin, Robert McDonald, and Heather Smith for joining Holly Chisa, UTA’s Washington State lobbyist, in Olympia.
