UTA’s 40th Annual Educational Conference, held November 8th -10th at the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas received very high reviews by attendees.

The Education sessions received positive reviews from members;

  • On the “Economic Outlook” session sponsored by Carrington Foreclosure Services with Professor Edward Coulson – “Great speaker, made the topic interesting.”
  • On the “Municipal Distressed Property Ordinances” session sponsored by WALZ and featuring Randy Newman, Esq., Michelle Mierzwa, Esq., Michael Halpern and Kevin Hamilton – “These speakers really know their subject. Very dry topic made interesting by strong presentations.”
  • On the “CFPB Rules and the Complaint Process” sponsored by First American Mortgage Solutions featuring Michelle Rodriguez, Esq., Michelle Mierzwa, Esq., and Elizabeth Knight – “Great job by all.”
  • On the “Case Law Updates” session, sponsored by Foreclosure Solution featuring Phillip Adleson, Esq., Martin T. McGuinn, Esq., Rex C. Anderson, Esq., Armand Howell, Esq., and Joe Solseng, Esq. – “Great pacing, well organized and easy to follow along. Best seminar of the day!”

  • On the “Title Issues You Need to Know” session sponsored by iMailTracking and featuring Joyce Copeland-Clark, Tom Gower, Susan Pettem, Shannon Pastras, and Teresa Marianos – “GREAT audience participation.”
  • On the “HOA Super Priority Liens” session sponsored by First American Mortgage Solutions and featuring Albert Garcia, Esq., Mitch Willet, Joel Just and Dana Nitz, Esq. – “HOA should be on the conference panel each year.”
  • On the “Trustees Roundtable” sponsored by ServiceLink and featuring Randy Newman, Esq., Lori Womack, Kayo Manson-Tompkins, Esq., and Chet Sconyers – “It is always a good open forum.”

Breakfast during the conference was enjoyed and sponsored by iMailTracking and Foreclosure Solution. The Annual Business Meeting luncheon and exhibitor raffle lunch was sponsored by Auction.com. Beverage breaks were sponsored by Daily Journal; Metropolitan News Company; ServiceLink and Walz. Conference Tote bags were sponsored by STOX Posting and Publishing.

Additionally, members enjoyed a first-rate dinner event held in the Lux Room on the top of the M Resort featuring various food stations, disco music celebrating the 70’s and the ‘Dating Game.” Fifteen Silent Auction items were won by attendees; and many exhibitor prizes were won by attendees as well.

“Excellent hotel and great topics” said one attendee. “The 70’s party was the best industry party ever,” said another.

Awards were also presented to Patric J. Kelly, Esq. of Adleson, Hess & Kelly, recipient of the Dorothy Schick Veteran Member of the Year Award and to Kate Heidbrink, Esq., of Bergstrom Law, recipient of the Suzanne Kelly New Member of the Year Award. Joyce Copeland-Clark of Wright Finlay & Zak received a Lifetime Achievement award. Outgoing Board member Phillip Adleson, Esq. of Adleson, Hess & Kelly was honored for his service on the Board of Directors.

Participants in the golf tournament and the Wine & Canvas social networking event had a great time at those events as well.

“It was a good conference and we received a lot of great suggestions and recommendations for next year,” said Chris Pummill, UTA’s Conference Committee Co-Chair. “The 70’s night will be one that will always be remembered,” said Gary Wisham Co-Chair. “And that’s appropriate given that it was a celebration of our 40 years.”
