UTA’s Vice President, Stephen Hickin, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the Orange County Superior Court by California Governor Newsom filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge James L. Crandall.
In an email to the UTA Board announcing his appointment and resignation from the Uta Board, Hicklin wrote: “It has been a pleasure to serve with you all. I have enjoyed the camaraderie and the friendships. It has been my privilege.”
Steve served the Board with distinction for many years. He was awarded the Dorothy Schick Member of the Year Award honoring a UTA member for their service and contributions to the Association and the industry. He received the award for his service as a dinner speaker at many UTA regional events, speaking
on topics as diverse as legislative updates and compliance issues from the Yvanova case. He also diligently lobbied the California legislature every year on behalf of UTA.”
“Steve served on our board and served our industry with grace and intelligence” said UTA President Cathe Cole-Sherburn. “He will be missed, but we are proud of him and we wish him the best in his career as a judge.”
