Biography: 

Ms. Manson-Tompkins is the managing attorney of The Wolf Firm’s Eviction and Foreclosure Departments.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Manson-Tompkins had her own office for 9 years and was also an attorney with a prominent real estate/business litigation law firm based in southern California and has spent the majority of her 31 years in practice handling residential civil litigation, with particular emphasis on complex evictions, judicial foreclosures and mobile home foreclosures.  Ms. Tompkins also has substantial experience handling surplus funds, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure and bankruptcies.  Ms. Manson-Tompkins has been frequently called upon to speak at local and national mortgage industry events.  For example, she has been a speaker at several REOMAC (REO Managers Association of California) and United Trustees Association (UTA) conferences, a faculty speaker for the National Business Institute (NBI) and Lorman Education Services on residential servicing issues, and a panelist and lead facilitator for the USFN at its Regional and National Loan Management and Servicing Seminars.  She has also published various articles for the USFN Report, the USFN National Mortgage Service Directory, the USFN e-update and the UTA Quarterly Newsletter and Servicing Management.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

  • Residential Mortgage Banking:  Managing Attorney of Eviction and Foreclosure Departments of The Wolf Firm.
  • Eviction: Representation of investors, lenders and servicers in post-foreclosure eviction matters, including rent and eviction control matters, complex issues, jury trials and appeals.
  • Non-Judicial Foreclosure: Representation of lenders and servicers in non-judicial foreclosures in reviewing and/or resolving title issues, foreclosure process issues and escalation issues.
  • Manufactured Homes: Representation of lenders and servicers in reviewing title to a manufactured home to insure it is affixed to the real property and de-titled, correcting title and/or processing manufactured home foreclosures.
  • Surplus/Interpleaders:  Managing Attorney of surplus disbursement matters, including the filing of interpleader or petition to deposit actions.

Why I would like to continue to be a member of the Board of Directors and my vision for UTA:

With all the changes to the laws as a result of COVID-19, I would love the opportunity to be on the board to help educate the trustees to avoid exposing themselves to liability. For years I have assisted USFN and REOMAC with educational seminars and will be able to impart those years of experience on the UTA.
