Golf Tournament, Cooking Class and Adventure Hummer Tour Are Available

Cooking Class offered this year

UTA will be offering members three leisurely social networking opportunities at the 41st Annual Education Conference, held November 6-8th in La Quinta.  On Sunday, November 6th, members may participate in the UTA’s 23rd Annual Golf Tournament; a ‘Cooking Class with Chef Gavin’ event; or an Adventure Hummer Tour.

The Cooking Class Event will be held from 11:45 am-3 pm.  In this exciting three hour hands-on culinary event, we will work with Chef Gavin to prepare a special lunch meal.  Chef Gavin will split the group into three teams, appetizer/starter, main entrée, and desert.  After all of the dishes are completed, the group will relax and enjoy a delicious lunch, wine and conversation.  (Registration fee is $100.)

The Adventure Hummer Tour (1-4 pm) will tour spectacular canyons and visit a 35,000 acre preserve containing the third-largest oasis in the world with towering palms and bubbling creeks as well as a bridge that crosses the San Andreas Fault.  Participants will take a 30 minute eco walk with a guide to view wildlife.  The group will also view abandoned gold mines.  (Registration is $119.)

Tee Time is 8:00 am for UTA’s 23rd Annual Golf Tournament, this year held at PGA West at the La Quinta Resort & Club. Challenge, beauty and drama permeate this masterfully designed desert setting course.  Around every corner, players will find a new challenge, including the rare feature of two island greens.  A true ball striker’s golf course, the Nicklaus Tournament Course is both forgiving off the tee and extremely demanding around the greens.  At 7,204 yards long, the course has a stroke rating of 75.3 and a slope rating of 143.  (Registration is $225.)
