Fannie and Freddie Speakers Join UTA Title Issues Panel

Teresa Marianos, Fannie Mae’s Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel and E. Shannon Pastras, Associate General Counsel at Freddie Mac will join Tom Gower, First American Mortgage Solutions, Susan Pettem, Ticor Title Default Solutions, and moderator Joyce Copeland, Wright, Finlay & Zak, on a panel dedicated to ‘Title Issues You Need to Know’ at UTA’s 40th Annual Conference on November 10th in Las Vegas.

The panel will discuss claimable vs. non-claimable title issues; duties under a TSG, marketability, claims vs. title claims for actual loss and managing servicer and beneficiary expectations.

Teresa Marianos provides legal support for the REO and expense reimbursement business units of Fannie Mae. Prior to joining Fannie Mae in October 2007, Marianos was Managing Partner with the Oklahoma law firm of Shapiro, Marianos &Cejda, LLP and President of First Financial Title Agency of Oklahoma, Inc., it’s in house title company.

E. Shannon Pastras is responsible for managing litigation, claims and disputes with respect to Freddie Mac’s single-family loan and real estate owned (“REO”) portfolios; managing Freddie Mac’s Designated Counsel Program, a network of law firms that conducts the majority of Freddie Mac’s residential foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction and REO settlement work; advising and assisting with respect to policy and procedure changes, and responding to investigations or inquiries from government agencies, political actors and other interested parties with respect to default mortgage servicing, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction and REO settlement matters.
