Laurie Maggiano

Laurie Maggiano, Program Manager for Servicing and Secondary Markets at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, will join Bob Caruso, Executive Vice President of ServiceLink, Elizabeth Knight, President of PLM Lender Services, and moderator Chris Pummill, President, CA/NV Trustee Division, Title Services of BDF Law Group, in a panel that will update members on CFPB rules, the issues in 2014 and what’s around the corner in 2015.

The session will be held at 9 am on Monday, November 10th.

Our expert panel, led by Ms. Maggiano, will address CFPB rules with a focus on how servicers and loans are covered under CFPB; pre-foreclosure contact with the debtor; loss mitigation rules; and payment processing. Servicer requirements under CFPB prior to a loan being referred for foreclosure will be addressed.

Her Prior Federal service includes four years as Director of Homeownership policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury where she was one of the architects of the Making Home Affordable program, and nine years as manager of mortgage servicing at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Before beginning her government career, Ms. Maggiano spent 20 years in the private sector as Director of REO at Freddie Mac and in senior management positions at two West Coast mortgage banks. In 2011, Ms. Maggiano was honored with a lifetime achievement award for Leadership in Mortgage Servicing and in 2012 and 2013 she was named by Housing Wire magazine as a ‘Women of Influence’ in the mortgage industry.
