Caren Castle is the recipient of the 2026 Phil Adleson Education & Advocacy Award.  The award is presented annually to a member who both educates and advocates on behalf of UTA and its membership.

The stringent criteria for the award includes being a ‘master teacher’, who has presented and educated members in a clear and informative manner with excellently researched and prepared materials; advocated before public officials on behalf of the association; and drafted legislation on behalf of the association.

In presenting the award, UTA President Edward Treder said “in her time as a Director on the UTA Board, she has supported UTA actively through interaction with industry relevant federal and state agencies; with mortgage servicers and with lenders.”

Treder added that “with the California Mortgage Bankers Association she regularly engaged in legislative lobbying and compliance training.”

Castle stated, “Having known Phil, how dedicated he was to the UTA and this industry, to receive an award in his name is truly an honor.  Thank you to the UTA for presenting me with this award, I am humbled and appreciative.”
