August Annual Conference Features Administration Policies on Foreclosure and Servicing; GSE Outlook, Judges Session; Legislative Updates and More

Annual Conference is August 17th-19th

What a lineup for UTA’s 50th Annual Education Conference, held at the JW Marriott Las Vegas August 17-19! The conference sessions will kick off with an Economic Forecast with an emphasis on the Trump Administration’s policies relative to foreclosure. The session’s speakers are Rick Sharga, Founder and CEO of CJ Patrick Company, and Daren Blomquist, VP, Market Economics at Auction.com.

Also, a focus on Monday at the conference will be a session on ‘The Impact of Administration Shifts on Servicing.’ The panel of servicers will include Chris Santana of PennyMac, and Roger Stotts of New American Funding.

A session on Bankruptcy law will feature Judges Scott Clarkson, Central District of California; Judge Christopher D. Jaime, Eastern District of California; and Judge Stephen L. Johnson, Northern District of California.

Monday’s sessions conclude with our Large and Small Trustees Roundtables.

Tuesday’s sessions will include ‘The GSE Perspective on the Default Industry’ with Graham Kidner, Associate General Counsel, Fannie Mae; and Dean Meyer, Director, Non-Performing Loan Management, Freddie Mac; a Legislative Update session featuring UTA’s California Lobbyist, Mike Belote and UTA’s Washington State Lobbyist Holly Chisa and UTA’s Legislative Committee Co-Chair Michelle Meirzwa, Esq.; as well as Case Law Updates UTA Legislative Committee Co-Chair Andrew Boylan, Esq., McCarthy Holthus; UTA’s Legal Services Co-Chair Martin McGuinn, Esq., Law Offices of Martin McGuinn; and UTA Legal Service Co-Chair Laura Coughlin, Esq., McCalla Raymer.

In addition to a class on the California Basic Foreclosure Certification course, this year’s conference features two exciting networking sessions: Bowling at Suncoast Casino (right near the JW Marriott) and a ‘Wine & Paint’ class.

Most exciting of all, Monday night’s dinner event will celebrate half a century of UTA success in a memorable and elegant outing. Our 50th anniversary night of dining and networking includes great friends, food, and fun – and the return of several of our UTA alumni friends. This year’s event features a live band and strolling magicians to keep the evening lively and will be full of surprises. Join us for a memorable night of entertainment, conversation, and celebration!
