Biography:

Joseph J. Tirello, Jr. is a Senior Attorney in Steele LLP’s Arizona office. His practice focuses on residential and commercial litigation, judicial and nonjudicial foreclosure, bankruptcy, and mortgage regulatory compliance. He represents lenders, servicers, and financial institutions in real estate disputes and foreclosure matters, including title issues, foreclosure-process concerns, and escalated legal matters.

Before joining Steele LLP, Mr. Tirello served as a managing attorney at a mortgage banking law firm with offices throughout the country. His experience includes representing mortgage lenders in all chapters of bankruptcy and advising on federal requirements affecting residential mortgage servicing. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and New Mexico. He has also served as a speaker at UTA’s annual conferences for the past three years, presenting legislative and case law updates.

Why I would like to be a member of the board of directors and/ or my vision for UTA:

I would like to serve on UTA’s Board to build on my three years of conference speaking and contribute my foreclosure, bankruptcy, and mortgage-compliance experience to the Association’s educational work. My priority would be practical legal education that helps members understand new decisions and legislation and apply them to everyday trustee and default-servicing issues.

I would support timely legal updates, useful training, and continued dialogue among trustees, attorneys, lenders, and servicers. My goal is to help UTA provide clear guidance, strengthen professional standards, and give members practical tools to identify legal risks and address difficult files.
