Katie TerBush of MK Consultants was awarded the Dorothy Schick Member of the Year Award during the Association’s 51st Annual Education Conference.

TerBush received the award for her work on the Board for six years. “She has served as our Membership Committee Co-Chair for several years where she, along with Susan Pettem, has energized our social media presence and prospect outreach,” said UTA President Ed Treder in presenting the award. “She has served on our Vendor Relations committee for several years, and co-chaired the Conference Committee for the wonderful 50th anniversary conference, as well as for this year’s conference.”

The award honors members for their service and contributions to the Association and the industry and is given to a member who has elevated the Association in its mission to foster and promote the quality of the default services industry through their extraordinary efforts and dedication. Award winners are nominated by UTA’s Committee Chairs and Board Members with a final determination of the winner made by the Board of Directors.

TerBush stated, “The UTA is made up of the best of the best. The group prioritizes education and best practices while playing a direct role in shaping the default industry. How could you not want to be involved? I’m truly honored to be named the 2026 recipient. It has been a pleasure to be part of the UTA, and I look forward to many more years of involvement and service!”
