Assemblywoman Blanca Pacheco

UTA has worked with Assemblywoman Pacheco (D-64) who has introduced AB 1957 in the California Assembly, which will advance the sunset date of SB 1079 Statutes to 2027.

Existing law represents a well-intentioned effort to broaden access to residential housing through the foreclosure process, but unfortunately abuses of the law, and often outright fraud, have led to systematic disincentives to bid on foreclosure properties, which deprives homeowners of the equity they need to obtain alternative housing for themselves and their families.
