San Diego Superior Court Responds to UTA
Prohibition on Trustee Sales Delayed Until October 31st

San Diego courthouse sales
prohibition delayed
In response to an Order of the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego, issued July 1, in conjunction with the Administrative Office of the Courts who manage the San Diego County Courthouse ceasing nonjudical foreclosure related activities effective August 31st, UTA sent a letter to both the Court and the Judicial Council of California expressing the Association’s concerns with the prohibition of trustee sales at the San Diego Courthouse. UTA also expressed a desire to meet with the Court in order to discuss and produce a fair outcome.
The court responded to UTA’s letter. The court remains adamant about ceasing nonjudicial activity in front of the courthouse, however, they have extended the deadline for prohibiting sales through October 31, 2011. UTA respond to the court’s letter and will address the issue of an alternative site and further extensions while that site is being pursued.
The San Diego Union-Tribune continues to report on the story. In a story dated August 18th, the newspaper reported “The ban on foreclosure auctions outside downtown San Diego’s courthouse has been delayed for two more months but those involved in the sales process are still in a bind.” UTA was quoted in the story.
