California AG's "Homeowner Bill of Rights" Broad in Scope

California Attorney General Kamala Harris unveiled the “California Homeowner Bill of Rights” designed to address the state’s ‘foreclosure crises.’  Harris was joined in the announcement by Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg and Assembly Speaker John A. Perez.

The package of bills would require creditors to provide documentation to borrowers that establish their right to foreclose and address due process, blight prevention, tenant protection and enhance the Attorney General’s enforcement mechanisms.
