UTA To Meet With FHFA Regarding New Rules for Foreclosure Legal Services

Many issues to address
UTA, led by the Association’s President, Robert Finlay, Esq., will meet with Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) officials to discuss new guidelines for default and foreclosure-related legal services. In addition to Finlay, UTA’s delegation will include UTA Past-President Rande Johnsen, Trustee Corps; Michelle Mierzwa, Esq., Cal-Western Reconveyance Corp.; and Elizabeth Knight, PLM Lender Services. The meetings will be held at the FHFA offices in McLean, Virginia on February 2nd.
With Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac phasing out their existing Designated Counsel Program and Retained Attorney Network, the FHFA will adopt uniform standards for Servicers and law firms providing default and foreclosure-related legal services. Time frames for completion of these activities or implementation of future changes have not been established. |
