UTA Announces Fourth Annual California Lobby Day & Dinner

UTA will hold its fourth Annual California Lobby Day and Dinner event on Tuesday March 20th.  Members will meet with their State Assemblyman and Senators after a briefing provides them with talking points from UTA’s California lobbyist, Mike Belote.  A dinner event will be held that same evening in Sacramento.

"By March 20, all new bills will have been introduced in California,” said Ron Roup, Esq., Roup & Associates, UTA’s Legislative Committee Chair. “It’s important for UTA members to express the trustee’s prospective to the legislators. Although we invite members to meet with their specific representatives, seldom does anyone go alone. We try to coordinate appointments and usually 3-4 people go to an appointment.  Although we will have our own UTA Wish List to support, there will be several bills that will adversely affect the UTA membership and we need to make our positions known to avoid laws that are impractical for everyone.”

Attendees can attend either the lobby day events or the dinner event or both.
