UTA Requests Extension for Previously Noticed Sales in LA County

Trustee Sales Prohibited
at LA County Court

UTA has sent a letter - drafted by UTA Counsel, Phillip M. Adleson, Esq., Adleson, Hess & Kelly, A.P.C., - to the Presiding Judge at the L.A. Superior Court regarding the upcoming December 31st, 2011 deadline after which trustee’s sales will be banned on L.A. County Courthouse property.

Some members report that they have had tremendous difficulty in obtaining new public square  sales sites in LA County.  The court initially gave trustee’s 6 months’ notice to find new locations in L.A. County.  Because of the time it took to find new sites,  UTA is attempting to secure an extension for previously noticed sales.

Members and their counsel are encouraged to immediately write to the Presiding Judge of the LA Superior Court (as set forth in the Adleson letter)  supporting UTA’s letter, or if members believe the deadline for all sales (previously noticed or newly noticed) should be extended outright, they are encouraged to have counsel write the Presiding Judge with that request, stating reasons for the need for a delay.
