Three Speaker Events Held

66 members attended UTA’s dinner event July 20th in Burbank, California. The event was sponsored by Metropolitan News Company.
Scott Sibley of Nevada Legal News and Michael Brooks, Esq., of Brooks Bauer, discussed both the process and the substance regarding AB 284 and AB 273 in Nevada as well as several court cases affecting the Nevada Mediation Program. Metropolitan News Company raffled off an iPad and gave away nine 50-dollar bills – one to each table at the dinner. Other raffle prizes were provided by Daily Journal Corp.; Interface & Reliable Posting and Publishing; LPS Agency Sales & Posting; Priority Posting & Publishing; Trustee’s Assistance Corp.; The dinner was held at The Castaway Restaurant.
23 members attended a luncheon in Seattle on July 14. The event was sponsored by Regional Trustee Services and Gary’s Process Service. Holly Chisa, UTA’s Washington lobbyist and Joe Solseng, Esq. of Robinson Tait, spoke on HB 1362 and Washington’s new ‘meet and confer mediation’ program. The luncheon was held at the Washington Athletic Club.
90 members attended a UTA dinner event in San Diego on June 2nd. Michelle Mierzwa, Esq., Cal-Western Reconveyance Corp.; Martin T. McGuinn, Esq., Kirby & McGuinn; Robert Finlay, Esq., Wright Finlay & Zak; David Fennell, Esq., Routh Crabtree Olsen, P.S.; and Phil Adleson, Esq., Adleson, Hess & Kelly discussed new laws in Nevada, Hawaii, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and California as well as relevant court cases in a very comprehensive session. Raffle prizes were provided by Daily Journal Corp.; Priority Posting & Publishing; LPS Agency Sales & Posting; Trustee’s Assistance Corp.; and the UTA. The event was held at the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley.
