Legal Update: the City of Richmond, California’s Ordinance Requiring Trustees to “Serve” Notices of Default on All Residential Tenants

UTA Corporate Counsel Phil Adleson, Esq., provides an update to members on the City of Richmond,California’s Ordinance.  The ordinance would require, among other things, that trustees “serve” a notice of default on “all tenants occupying the rental unit”.  Adleson’s recent article detains many of the problems with the Richmond Ordinance and foretells of the problems that could arise if each City tinkered with the statewide nonjudicial foreclosure process.  He now provides an update on the issue.
