UTA California Changes Enacted

UTA’s California Lobbyist, Michael Belote, updates members on a series of changes designed to resolve ambiguities in SB 1137 that were recently signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger.

“The changes were proposed by UTA and were incorporated into SB 306 (Calderon). All of the changes are effective on January 1, 2010,” Belote writes. The changes include a clarification that the that the 30-day waiting period established in SB 1137 dates from the time of initial contact with the borrower as well as several other important issues. Mike also provides a summary of other bills likely to reach the Governor’s desk for signature or veto by October 11th.
