Detroit Sheriff Suspends Foreclosure Sales
The Wayne County, Michigan Sheriff, Warren Evans, has announced that he stopping all Wayne County foreclosure sales effective immediately. The Sheriff has currently given no indication as to when the self-imposed moratorium will end. He is loosely basing his decision on The Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and federal preemption laws. Coincidentally, Evans is also running for mayor of Detroit.
