Edward Coulson

Professor of Economics and Director of the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Edward Coulson is Professor of Economics and Director of the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Professor Coulson received his B.S. in Economics at the University of California, Riverside, and his Ph.D. in the same subject from UC San Diego. He arrived at UNLV in the summer of 2014 after serving for almost three decades on the faculty of The Pennsylvania State University where he was Professor of Economics and the Jeffrey and Cindy King Faculty Fellow in Real Estate. He has been a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Banks of Philadelphia and New York, the University of Auckland, and elsewhere. He is published widely in real estate, urban economics, housing economics and related fields and is a Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute for Advanced Real Estate Studies. From 2006 through 2014 he was co-editor of Real Estate Economics, and now serves as co-editor of Journal of Regional Science. Professor Coulson is currently the First Vice-President of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, the leading academic real estate association.
