UTA 2nd Annual California Lobby Day & Dinner is March 15th

UTA will hold its 2nd Annual California Lobby Day on Monday March 15th. Members will meet with their State Assemblyman and Senators after a briefing provides them with talking points from UTA’s California lobbyist, Mike Belote. A dinner, featuring speaker Eileen Newhall, the Staff Director of the California Senate Banking, Finance & Insurance Committee will be held that same evening in Sacramento.

Eileen will discuss Mediation Proposal Legislation among other topics.  With a hearing expected soon on SBx8 38 related to mortgage modifications and foreclosures, the timing of UTA’s lobby day could not be better.

“It’s imperative that UTA members express the other side of the story when it comes to foreclosure law,” said Ron Roup, Esq., Roup & Associates, UTA’s Legislative Committee Chair. “Too often the emotions reign on this issue without a view to the factual implications of the regulation and the result are laws that are impractical for everyone. This year, with mediation on the docket, it’s crucial that we come out in large numbers.”

Attendees can attend either the lobby day events or the dinner event or both.
